FAQs
I’M NOT SURE MY NEEDS FIT NEATLY INTO THE PACKAGES YOU OFFER. CAN I CUSTOMIZE?
1
Absolutely! When you hire me to photograph your wedding, you are hiring a person, not a template. After a brief discussion about your photography must-haves, wants and needs, I will send you or your wedding planner a custom quote.
What if i don’t know what my budget is yet?
2
This is super common! I highly recommend hiring a planner to help guide your overall budget and match you with vendors who fit within that budget breakdown. If you are still in the very early stages of planning and just trying to get general ideas about pricing, you can expect to pay anywhere from $5k-20k Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form or schedule a call—we’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.
What makes you different from other santa barbara wedding photographers?
3
There is no shortage of wedding photographers in Santa Barbara. With a quick google search you’ll find every style and price point imaginable. What sets me apart is my experience (13 years), my professionalism and my long-standing relationships in the Santa Barbara wedding community. I have photographed every major venue in the area and seen the best and worst this industry has to offer. I’ve worked through weather disasters, family conflicts, illnesses and vendor no-shows. Remaining calm and creative in the face of all that takes practice and skill.
do you shoot film?
4
I do! I love film. As an elder millennial I have the unique experience of straddling the analog and digital worlds. I learned photography on black and white film and switched to digital in college. Film has always held a special place in my heart and is now integrated into every wedding I photograph.
I love photographing families and have a separate site for just that. I have two young girls of my own (ages 3 & 5) and capturing their bright personalities takes a certain finesse. Sometimes I feel as though I’ve been trained on the battlefield, but becoming a mom has helped me fully understand how to approach children who may or may not want to be photographed. Right now, I’m working on a family photo project called “Sunday Sessions” but I also do holiday mini sessions, mother’s day sessions and have the flexibility to work with your schedule to make it happen any time of year that is convenient.
